The 9Z models run at approximately 1,400 rpm on a 380 V supply; where a weight is given as a range, the lower figure is the electric machine and the upper figure the multi-drive version, the 9Z-8T is 25–30 hp recommended and the 9Z-10T is typically fitted with 35 hp. The 3.8 to 15 t/h ratings are offered with an electric motor — single phase up to 7 t/h, three phase above it — or a diesel engine, and their dimensions are printed in the notation supplied. Voltage, engine brand, exact weight, dimensions and units are confirmed against the ordered configuration at quotation.

Gearbox

This applies to the 9Z models: not every combination is offered on every one — the 9Z-4.5T has no three-drive version, the 9Z-8T is dual-gearbox only, and on the 9Z-10T diesel comes with the three-drive version rather than as a dual-power option. The 3.8 to 15 t/h ratings are simpler: each is supplied either with an electric motor or with a diesel engine. Each model page lists exactly how that machine can be ordered.
Applications
What these machines are used for
Forage, hay, straw and crop stalk, cut for cattle, sheep, goats, horses and poultry.
Silage baling and wrapping
Fresh forage is compressed into a bale and sealed in film. Sealed bales can be stacked outdoors and opened one at a time.
Forage and straw cutting
Grass, straw and corn stalk are cut to a set length before baling or feeding, which is what lets the material compress properly.
Feed pellet production
Ground forage and mixed feed are pressed into pellets for cattle, sheep, poultry and fish.
Cattle, sheep and dairy farms
Farms that need to carry feed through a dry season, and feed producers supplying them.

Which chaff cutter suits my farm?
Choose by the output you need and the material you cut. The low discharge cutters run from 3.8 to 15 t/h and the 9Z high discharge series from 4.5 to 10 t/h. Send the material and the tonnage you need an hour and we will recommend a model.
What power do the chaff cutters need?
From 3-4 kW on the 3.8 t/h machine to 22 kW on the 9Z-10T. The smaller ratings are single phase and the 9Z series is 380 V three phase. Diesel and other drive options are available on selected models.
Can I buy blades and wear parts later?
Yes. Blades, belts and rollers are supplied for every machine we sell. We recommend ordering a first set with the machine.
